Best Bitcoin mixers in 2026

There is no single best Bitcoin mixer for everyone. A custodial service wins on convenience; CoinJoin wins on control. We scored three options against the same eight criteria so you can choose by what matters to you, not by who paid for a banner.

How we rank Bitcoin mixers

Each service gets a score out of 100. Custody carries the most weight because it decides what you risk while the mix is running. Fees, delay control and log policy follow, since they shape both cost and privacy. We test with small amounts, read the published policies and track how long each project has operated. No service paid to be listed or ranked among the best Bitcoin mixers here.

Mixero: best BTC mixer for a simple web flow

1
custodial · score 88/100
Type: custodialFee: ≈0.5–2.5%Delay: adjustableAccount: not needed

Mixero is the easiest option on this list. You open the site, enter one or several receiving addresses, set a delay and send the deposit. The service issues a signed letter of guarantee for every order and offers access through Tor. According to the operator, the mixing engine is based on CoinJoin-style pooling, but from the user's side it behaves like a classic custodial Bitcoin mixer: you hand over coins and receive different ones back.

That convenience comes with the usual custodial trade-off. While your order is in progress, you depend on the operator. Start with a small test amount, keep the guarantee letter and confirm the published fee before each order.

JoinMarket: best non-custodial crypto mixer for control

2
coinjoin · score 84/100
Type: peer-to-peer CoinJoinFee: set by makers, often lowDelay: you decideCode: open source

JoinMarket is an open-source project that has run since 2015. It creates a small market for CoinJoin: makers offer their coins for joining and earn a fee, while takers pay that fee to start a CoinJoin when they need one. There is no central coordinator, and your keys never leave your machine. The Jam web interface makes it far friendlier than the original command-line tools.

The catch is setup. JoinMarket expects a Bitcoin Core full node, and you need to understand coin control to get the most from it. For people willing to learn, it is one of the most robust tools available.

  • You keep your keys the whole time
  • No central coordinator to fail
  • Can earn fees by acting as a maker
  • Requires a full node
  • Steeper learning curve

Wasabi Wallet: best CoinJoin Bitcoin mixer for desktop

3
coinjoin · score 80/100
Type: WabiSabi CoinJoinFee: coordinator + minerPlatforms: Windows, macOS, LinuxNetwork: Tor built in

Wasabi Wallet is a free, open-source desktop wallet with CoinJoin built in. It uses the WabiSabi protocol, which lets rounds produce outputs in several standard sizes, and routes traffic through Tor by default. Once you enable automatic CoinJoin, the wallet keeps mixing in the background until your coins reach the privacy level you set.

In June 2024 the company behind the original coordinator shut it down, so today you connect Wasabi to an independent coordinator of your choice. Check that coordinator's fee and round sizes before you start; both vary.

  • Automatic CoinJoin, minimal effort
  • Tor and coin control included
  • Open source and free
  • Must choose a third-party coordinator
  • Round sizes vary between coordinators

Red flags when choosing a crypto mixer

  • No signed letter of guarantee for the deposit address.
  • Promises of total invisibility or zero risk; honest services describe limits.
  • Look-alike domains and links from ads or chats. Type the address yourself and bookmark it.
  • A required account with email or phone for a service that claims to keep no logs.
  • No clear fee calculator or minimum amount before you send coins.
